Why not join a faith sharing group this Lent to read the Scripture,  pray together and share faith?

What is a Faith Sharing Group?

A Faith Sharing Group is 4 or more people that get together to share faith, read and reflect on scripture of the day or the approaching Sunday.

Groups meet once a week Ash Wednesday  through Holy Week.

Lent

  • Meetings are held at the parish or in homes depending on individual facilitator's schedule.
  • Day and evening faith sharing groups are available.
  • All materials are provided.
  • There is no fee.
  • You can form your own group with family and friends and meet at your convenience.

All Materials will be available for pick up, at the parish office and electronically.

New and past facilitators please check in with your interest in facilitating a group this Lent. New facilitator training is available.

A facilitator or group leader simply aids in the flow of the faith sharing session ensuring that the material is covered, the group stays on task, everyone has an opportunity to reflect and discuss and time is managed.

Please consider this wonderful way to  prepare for our baptismal renewal at Easter.

During the Lenten and Advent seasons, there are Faith Sharing Groups that meet weekly, to discuss Scripture readings and their impact on our lives.  Facilitator training and guidelines are provided for these programs.

Typical tasks and responsibilities: The leader must be present each time the group meets or arrange for someone else to lead the group.  Also, he or she must keep the group focused on the topic and be sure materials are provided for the group members.  Group members need to read the selection each week and participate in the discussion.

Required training or skills: Group leaders must take a one hour facilitator training session.

Approximate time commitment: Usually 60-90 minutes whenever the group meets. Some meet weekly, others monthly.

Location: At the Parish of Saint Mary or in homes of participants.
