Child Protection Efforts

In collaboration with the Diocese of Trenton, the Parish of Saint Mary is aimed at creating safe environments for the children and youth. All volunteers and employees submit to a criminal background check through fingerprint analysis and attend the required VIRTUS Awareness Training Program. These three-hour courses cover the scope and nature of child sexual abuse in addition to giving participants the five steps that caring adults can follow to protect children.

If you are a volunteer at The Parish of Saint Mary, or plan to become one in a ministry that comes in contact with children, the elderly, or other vulnerable adults, please sign-up for a Virtus workshop.Virtus Sexual Abuse Awareness Sessions for Parish Volunteers. You only have to attend a session once to be permanently certified. 

See the schedule of upcoming sessions within the Diocese of Trenton at www.virtus.org and register by taking the following steps:  

1- Go to Virtus.org
2- Begin Registration Process
3- Select Organization- Trenton (NJ, Diocese)
4- Follow 'create new user' prompts
5 - Seek and select the above session.

All are asked to be present and signed in no later than 9:55am, doors close promptly at 10:am - as mandated by VIRTUS.

Both sessions will be held in the Theater.
