Dr. Carly Mcilvaine-York is an experienced musician and educator. She sang regularly as a professional chorus member with the National Chorale in Lincoln Center, NYC for five seasons from 2007-2012. She was named an "Artist in Residence" by the NJ Council on the Arts from 2009-2012. She has several recording projects live on Apple iTunes, including her latest release, Christmas Calm. Carly was the featured guest on Sirus/XM’s “Sounds from the Spires” radio program in December 2020. The entire Christmas Calm album was played during the show with Dr. Jennifer Pasquale of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Carly earned her Masters Degree in Liturgical Music from Catholic University in Washington, DC, with a focus on Choral Conducting. She went on to earn a second Masters in Music degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with a focus on Voice Performance and Pedagogy. As a lifelong learner and educator, Carly continued on to earn her Doctorate of Education degree from Seton Hall University. Currently, Carly is an Adjunct Professor of Music at Georgian Court University, and a Real Estate Broker/Training Manager with a local real estate company. She currently resides in Colts Neck with her family and is thrilled to serve as Principal Cantor at The Parish of Saint Mary.
